Those black regions are there because you are not streaming in 16:9 scale I think. What resolution are you streaming at and what is your monitor's resolution?

The Twitch video player runs at 16:9 while 1440x900 is a 16:10 resolution. The pillarboxing is being added by the video player, it isn't a result of incorrect OBS settings.

I'd say either switch up to 1600x900 or down to 1366x768.
Or just keep using your native resolution and don't worry about it. Running an LCD outside of its native res looks terrible and viewers don't care about pillarboxing anyway.
