Hello.

I purchased your UCEC All-In-One USB 2.0 Video Capture Card Device, VHS VCR TV to DVD Converter for Mac OS X PC Windows 7 8 10 on Thursday April 30th & received the Amzon.ca package this past Monday May 04-2020.

I installed the software using the disk provided & Plugged in all the cables to the VCR, Dongle(UCEC UBS2.0 Video Capture) & to the USB port on my Dell Inspiron 5675 Gaming Desktop computer that uses a Windows 10 OS.

Problems I’m having :

  • The honstech VHS to DVD 3.0 SE program does not capture ANY Video nor Audio from my ‘playing’ VCR.
  • The OBS Studio x64 Program ‘does’ show Video image but does ‘not’ capture Audio from my VCR. There’s never any movement on the ‘video capture device’ audio display in the ‘audio mixer’ window. ** It does show that it’s capturing my computer audio in the ‘audio mixer’ window, when I have a video on YouTube playing.
Can anyone help me with this ‘major’ recording issue ?? Could it be a faulty dongle, or the settings within the program/s, or could it be the settings on my computer ??
Thanks :)

I think you might be a little confused, we make the free and open source software OBS Studio, we don't sell capture devices. You will likely need to contact the manufacturer of the device, but honestly those cheap knockoff devices arrive broken more often than not.

Thanks for the reply, Fenrir.__________I didn't realize that the hardware I purchased, that came with an install CD ( with your OBS Studio software & install & set-up instructions, all within their 'quick start guide ), were separate entities.__________By chance, could you suggest an 'easy to use' VHS to PC Win 10 Video Capture devise, that's known to be reliable ? I just want to digitize all of my old VHS Tapes that contain many vids of my 4 children.__________Any and all suggestions, or guidance, are Very appreciated !!!_____Again, many Thanks Fenrir :)

You might try using the same hardware dongle but for your software, open the basic Quicktime app and select "File>New Movie Recording. See if your capture device shows up on the list of "cameras" in the QT capture window.
