Camera not working on other applications since installing OBS

Since I installed OBS, I am not able to use my camera in other applications including Zoom and Youtube Live. The camera still shows an an option in these applications, but gives either a black screen or (in the case of Youtube Live), an OBS logo.

I can understand that this could happen if OBS is running, but it is still happening if OBS is not running. I have attached a simple log showing OBS starting and exiting in case that is meaningful to an expert here.

If I do start OBS and the Virtual Camera, then I can select that as the source in the other applications, and all works fine.

Is there a way to get (force?) OBS to release the camera when it (OBS) is not running?

I'm experiencing the same with WhatsApp in chrome. Even tho I have the options to select the laptops camera in the browser it is forcing the OBS one and I can't disable that.

You might want to open a new thread as this is a different issue. I can select any camera I want, but as explained in the original post, the problem is that the local camera feed is not active when OBS is present.

I'm still having this issue but the forum alerts showed me this string: https://obsproject.com/forum/threads/uinstalling-obs-virtualcam-windows-10.118319/#post-485677 - I'll be trying this option to see if I get rid of that phantom camera.
