Camera looks worse when made smaller.

Hello all, I recently purchased a Sony a5100 and for some reason when I have the camera full screen in OBS the quality looks much better then when I make it smaller for gaming. It almost looks grainy. This applies to the recordings as well. Is this an OBS issue or a camera issue? I guess what I am asking is, is there a reason for such a decline in quality when the source has been made smaller? Appreciate any help!

Probably aliasing artifacts, try running the camera at a lower resolution or use a different scale filtering option on the source.
