Camera fails to preview in studio mode

Trying to stream church services for a small church on a tight budget and I'm new to all this. There are 2 cameras: 1 PTZ and 1 Amcrest surveillance fixed focus. They are using different ports and both have static iP address. Initially all works fine but when switching between different scenes and transitioning from preview to live in studio mode the Amcrest stops showing preview. The screen is black. If that scene is transitioned live the camera view shows up but goes back to it's default position. I have it zoomed in within OBS preview. I want to be able to make adjustments in preview. Any ideas?

Similar situation, only just starting to experiment. I have two IP cameras (SV3C security cam) and when I do a transition, the Program camera works fine, but the one on Preview goes black. My built-in laptop cam and a USB webcam do not suffer like this. As a workaround, I have found that just a slight nudge to the transition slider wakes up the preview screen, which would allow you to do your PTZ in preview. But it would be nice to know how to avoid/fix this issue.

Hello everybody,
I just read the post and I too have been struggling with that problem for a year. I too have noticed that 'a slight nudge to the transition slider wakes up the preview screen' but I am very curious if you or other OBS users, have found a definitive solution. Is there a setting wrong somewhere ?
