I have a Sony A7iii connected through a Blackmagic device. It works in zoom and other programs but isn't working in OBS. But other external webcams are being picked up.

Hello, Blackmagic devices have never been successful for me on Windows though I've heard of a few success stories. On a MAC they are wonderful. I use several types of cameras from DSLR's to Camcorders with Blackmagic Ultra Studio Mini Recorders and they are bulletproof on MacOS / Thunderbolt. Windows I use an AverMedia ExtreameCap UVC which is about the same price.

You may need to update the firmware on the device. I had to do this (I think for OBS 24) for my BM HDMI to Thunderbolt adapter with newest version of Desktop Video. You can download that from https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/support/family/capture-and-playback
And it works on Windows 10.
