Question / Help C920 Webcam + OBS [Fixed]

I'm having a weird issue with OBS studios.

On OBS classic the webcam works fine. 16:9 resolution

but on OBS Studios which is the new one I am using the Webcam seems to be cropped to a square which is weird like if a camera was 500x300 in size.

i am also using the c920 webcam to stream too, by default, its default setting on OBS studio is that resolution, you have to manually set it to what you want it at, i think i had to when i set mine up.

Update:

Had to set the Properties > Resolution > Custom instead of the Device's Default. After changing it to 1920/1080 it works fine again.

just letting everyone know i was using a HP 3110 webcam and i was having the exact problem and this fixed it immediately, thanks for the fix guys.

I am having a very similar problem with my c920. 90% of the time the webcam output just will not show up. There is no box to resize or anything. As long as the camera is hooked up and not showing none of my other video capture devices will show up either. I've done all kinda different things to get it to finally pop up. It usually takes me almost an hour to get it to come up, and then half the time the webcam controls are messed up. In this case, I have to cut OBS Studio off and back on to get it to get the cam controls to work if the cam even comes back up. On top of that it makes all of my hotkeys that use ctrl or shift not work unless I set them again. I never had the hotkey problem until the webcam started messing up. I've tried the fix suggested here, but it only fixed the issue the first time. Now that doesn't work. BTW my webcam works fine in other programs.
