Question / Help C920 optimal settings?

I'm currently using a c920 using a emulated mode to get 1080p 30fps. I am only recording locally for my purposes I was wanting to see if anyone has better settings that they are using to get high quality recording without slamming the processor during recording.

Thanks for any feedback

I don't know how it goes on Linux, but running the c920 at 1080p can cause audio issues and sometimes raises CPU usage quite a bit. I recommend not running at over 720p.

It doesn't seem to be affecting my audio much if at all with how I currently have this setup other than the video running with heavy stutter causing the audio and video to be wildly out of sync.

For me, I'm having trouble even getting OBS to run the C920 at 720p, at 30 fps. It defaults on opening to a maximum of 10, and I can't seem to fix that.

As a workaround, you can run guvcview, and window capture that.

I used qv4l2 to do a similiar work around on my centos 7 workstation. What I found is I had to set
Video Format to yv12 emulated
resulution 1280x720
frame rate 24 or 30
and uncheck use buffering to drop the cpu usage down on this machine. That helps quite a bit. I'm currently on 0.11.2

Hope this helps some

That Video Format is the step I was missing. I'm getting a pretty consistent framerate now.
