Question / Help Bypass VPN client

So I have a bit of a wierd question and i'm not sure if it's possible to do...

So I'm using a VPN client (SoftEther) that hooks me to a new network connection to allow me to play certain games that has a region lock (since i live in Sweden).

However, I do not wish to use this connection when i'm streaming and for some reason, when i try to connect to my regular network (with "Bind to IP"), it says this:

So how do I connect OBS to my normal network, while still having my VPN client running?

Correct me if i'm wrong, but is it? Because I am trying to connect to my regular network with it running and it says that it finds the hostname, but unable to connect because its a IPv4 and not IPv6. That doesn't sound like a VPN issue to me...

If you can use both connections on your PC simultaneously, then it is possible and for OBS Studio.

Well, both connections rounds up under the dropdown menu, but as i described previously, it says that its wrong, because it tries to connect to a IPv4 connection instead of a IPv6 one.

Alright, i checked around a bit more and it seems its more of a hassle than what its worth to make it work... Oh well, i guess it doesnt matter in the end.

OBS simply binds to the network adapter you tell it to. If your VPN does not support allowing routing to local network devices while active, OBS cannot function properly. So you need to contact your VPN provider.

It's sadly neither of them that is correct, I basically need to have a secondary network card and work/reroute around those cards to make it work properly and it just aint worth it.

I mean... you don't? I can bind to my non-VPN adapter and use OBS over the non-VPN connection on my end just fine, because the service I use allows it.

How are you using the VPN, Configured on your pc or configured on your network device (router/modem) (do all devices in the house go through the same VPN or only the ones you set up on like for example (maybe) your pc?

If you have your VPN configured in the modem/router, you will need to undo that and configure it on your pc with a separate virtual network adapter, use the VPN adapter afterwards for default internet usage such as browsing in a web browser and bind OBS to use your normal network adapter.

If you have your VPN configured only on your pc, that means you most likely have at least 2 Network adapters installed. 1 is your default (non VPN-ed) one, and 2 is your VPN one. In OBS Advanced settings, bottom setting will allow you to bind OBS to which ever adapter you want to use. Suggesting as above, Keep things as they are, reset default settings for the original non VPN-ed adapter, bind the same to OBS in OBS Advanced settings and the rest should take care on its own (using the VPN-ed adapter by default for other internet purposes).
