Bug Report Buzzing sound while streaming

I just started streaming with OBS a few weeks ago, and ever since I started people have been complaining about there being a buzzy sound when certain in game sound effects happen. I stream Dark Souls often and it makes the buzzing sound whenever my character gets attacked or slides down ladders mostly. Thing is, it makes the buzzing noise even if the stream can't hear the actual in game sound and I can't hear anything through my headset until I listen to the recorded broadcast later. I've tried muting my mic to see if there was some feedback through that and it didn't help whatsoever.

All of my audio settings in OBS are set to default, I've got my mic and headphones set as my desktop audio device and mic/auxiliary device respectively.

This is a prime example of the sound http://www.twitch.tv/rottencorpse69/b/400532474 if you skip to about 00:23 into it you can hear it even through me talking and the music(Warning: Vulgarity). You can hear it again at about 3:08, and then about 3:56 I mute the mic and you can still hear it, then a few seconds later you can hear a constant buzz as I slide down the ladder.

I've been Googling this for weeks and found no relevant or useful information regarding it, as no one else seems to be encountering the same issue.
Does anyone have any idea what might cause this? Using a different headset is kind of out of the question right now since I have no others to use at the moment.

Wow, that is really weird. I do hear it, maybe it's something related to the controller USB transmission where it'd try to use the vibrator or something? I'm not entirely sure. (Just sort of a wild shot in the dark there as for a guess)

..I honestly have no clue actually, but if you can find out what on earth is causing it please let me know. I know that's probably not what you wanted to hear but sometimes I don't have an actual answer, only theories. There are often weird device conflicts that pop up for some reason and I have no idea why it happens. It's just as baffling to me as it is to you, because I'm just reading the data from these things, not writing to them, so.. I am indeed totally baffled.

try changing your video out pin to audio out, that fixed it for me (although it was odd that i needed FME to get to the pins page)

I recently ran into this issue as well. The noise didn't used to occur but I recently moved my wireless network adapter closer to my desk for a better connection and that is when I noticed the buzzing. What i found out is that when I moved my headphone wire closer the the network adapter, the noise got louder, this is caused because both devices run on the 2.4 ghz channel, causing interference with signals. there is also a possibility that interference can slow down the network connection however I have not run into this issue. so my solution: move your headphones away from the network adapter and see if it works. It did for me :)

Disable your microphone in OBS settings. Go to the Settings, go to the audio tab. And, where it says Microphone/Auxiliary Device tap the drop down arrow, and select Disable. The drone/buzzing sound will stop immediately.

I'm having this same issue. Tried to start streaming Darksiders 2 today. Did a test recording first. During the opening developer splashes and legal info there is a high pitched screeching that varied depending on what was being showed on screen. Then all during the start menu and gameplay it's more of a constant buzz.

I stream audio into a BEHRINGER XENYX 1002FX that is hooked into my streaming PC. I tested it plugged into different ports in my gaming PC as well as swapping out the audio cables but that did not change it. Different games seem to have a different level of buzzing and at least one game (original Tomb Raider) had none at all. Also did a recording with just Netflix playing on my game PC and there was zero buzzing or screeching.

Was able to replicate the same sounds being made on my gfs computer under the exact same conditions.

I was able to start up the game, tab out after a couple seconds, tab back in and the buzzing was pretty much gone. I don't see this as a permanent solution though if anyone has any ideas how to resolve this.

(Also as a side note all of this was done with the microphone being turned off)

Any ideas?

I had the same issue, but only noticed it when I had the game window open. Check to see if there is a section in the settings for Hardware (I was test recording Diablo III, there's a hardware section in the audio settings). My sound channel was defaulted to low setting, so I bumped it to high and that seemed to take care of the issue.
