Hey guys,

Which card type, AMD or Nvidia would provide the biggest benefit for a machine used only for streaming. Im guessing something that is openCL compatible. Any recommendations?

Im using an FX-8120 so I need a dedi card.

Thanks a ton

It doesn't take as much card as you may think.

However, a good card can pick up some of the load from a weaker machine..

Example -- I run an HD stream off a laptop with an i5 Dualcore processor, with no dedicated graphics -- the stream runs off the i5 processor graphics..Intel HD 3000 Graphics.

This laptop is 4GB, i5 dual core (with 2 virtual threads), intel HD 3000 graphics on Win 7 and handles 1080p streams at 2-3Mbit like a champ.

That said -- If you are experiencing issues.. you won't go wrong with any Nvidia 500 series or better. You do NOT need a $400+ videocard. A$100-$150 card is plenty.

Your CPU plays a large role in streaming.

You may need to do other upgrades for the best increase in performance that a Gfx card.. though again.. I'm always a fan of Nvidia over ATI for graphics,.. and the 500 series or greater are all great , powerful, cards.

Good luck
