I may be one of the only one's that do this, but I use OBS audio monitoring in conjunction with virtual audio cable to add OBS Studio's filters to my voice when using apps like skype and discord... (I like the noise gate and compression)...
I set the audio monitor output to line 3 or something like that and set that same line as my mic in the communication apps...
Here's the bug: After a while, a delay occurs on the monitor.... so I'll say something and there is a delay before the people that I am talking to hears what I say. The delay is absent when I first start OBS up. Also, opening the mixer and turning the monitoring off and, then, back on, eliminates the delay.
Also, I tried a recording while I knew that the delay was present on the audio monitor and the recording was unaffected by the delay bug.
TLDR; after a while, the audio monitor develops a delay. It can be reset by turning the delay off and back on.
Thanks.
