As noted, on a disconnect and auto-reconnect, the microphone is muted/silent; the icon is not grayed-out and the volume bar is maxed and does not move.
To restore audibility, have to mute and unmute the mic, upon which it returns to normal operation.
This appears to possibly also occur if the remote server drops and a manual 'start streaming' is performed as well (I'm unsure if the log below is before or after I disabled the auto-retry, but as I recall it was a manual restart-streaming).
