Question / Help Buffering video source Vs. audio sync

im trying to get my snes input (via xcapture-1 svideo) to work perfectly. I have it sending interlaced video at 60fps which I then de interlace with the retro setting in OBS. My problem is that every 6-7 seconds I get a little hiccup in the smoothness of the video in OBS (in preview window, not related to streaming). I've found a way to make that not happen, by turning on buffering in the video source options rather than leaving it on auto. The problem then it that the audio goes out of sync. Is there some way to get these to match up?

Also, why do I have to enable buffering at all- does this indicate some other issue I should sort out to be able to play without the delay and also not have these hiccups?
