Browser not supported

Hi,

I have been using OBS for quite some time, it has been fantastic up until yesterday when suddenly I received a browser not supported notice.
I use the browser source and that works fine, I then interact which also works fine, however when I attempt to select a stream and play it, the browser not supported appears. I have checked that all the browsers installed are up to date, windows updates are all installed, all drivers are up to date. and OBS is up to date, I can't work out why this is suddenly occurring. Another user located in USA uses OBS with the same streaming service and it's not occurring to him. I then tested on my sons PC and the same thing occurs. I can't work out what's going on. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

You need to contact the streaming service to know why this is an issue. They give you a link in this message you should follow.

As stated you need to contact them for support on this.
You can't change the browser in OBS. For this you should use a normal browser like firefox, edge or chrome.

They aren't going to tell me why OBS is doing what it's doing. As the source I select browser, I put in the URL of the site, it loads up on OBS, I then select interact and it loads up on the interact screen, it is only when I try to play a selection from the interact screen that I get that error. If I don't use OBS and use any browser, it loads up, I can play anything and I don't get any error, which tells me that the problem is specific to OBS. It is as if it is somehow being detected and blocked which shouldn't occur. What's even more odd is that another person in USA uses the same account I am using and isn't experiencing this problem that I am with OBS, which tells me that it is not account/profile specific.

I have firefox, edge and chrome installed, how do i know which one OBS is using and how can i change it from the one its using, lets say edge, to chrome?

OBS don't use any of those browsers. It uses CEF, a version of chromium (which is the base for chrome and edge). Last year this version dropped some features that are needed for OBS. Until devs figure out a way to replace this feature the CEF can't be updated.
The site you are visiting requires, for whatever reason, most probably copyright issues, an up to date browser so you have to use a browser like firefox, edge or chrome to watch it.
Any other issue you have to contact the service you are trying to watch.

Thank you. Makes sense. What i cant figure out is why my friend in the states isnt having the same problem. He is using an older version so i removed the latest version and scrubbed the registry and installed the same version he is using but got the same issue. I guess i will have to wait until the devs can update chromium.

I did a few tests with other software. Audials movie worked with both its internal player and my external browser of choice. So the problem appears to be 100% OBS with an out of date embedded chromium. It would be nice if this was fixed or add an option to use your own external player as audials movie has done.

Look, if it's your perspective that anyone should contact Twitch about this, you shouldn't be answering product questions.

Correct, CEF is the issue. An issue with the in-app browser library OBS has bundled in. OBS is comparatively a tiny organization compared to Twitch. It isn't Twitch's job to make their app work on OBS, it's OBS's developers' job to update their in-app browser library.

Just putting it here for posterity, don't waste my time.
