Question / Help Bring in PowerPoint Controlled Externally?

Hi folks, hope you're well! I'm slowly learning OBS and wow it's powerful!

I have a requirement next week to stream someone from a Zoom call, on custom background graphics etc which I've got to grips with. They want to be able to reference a slideshow in their talk and I am trying to figure out how to show their slideshow with them controlling it?

I have a capture card and spare laptop, so could have their slideshow open in full screen on that and bring it in as a source - but how could I sync that with their clicks on their computer? Must be a simpler way I've missed?

Many thanks!

I'd use TeamViewer (or any other screen sharing software that let's the counterpart interact with my deskop) on the second laptop and give my partner the ability to interact with the presentation. HDMI output into a capture card (in my case I have a BlackMagic Intensity Shuttle), then add it as a Blackmagic Device source into OBS. Should work.

Thanks for this

Hey man, thanks for this - yes I agree that may be the best solution. I'm just a bit worried about teamviewer hogging my bandwidth as I only have 10mb/s up on my home connection (can't get through on the phone to upgrade it..) do you think streaming that + teamviewer may be an overload? Also means client has to download that stream while uploading their webcam feed.. don't really have a good grasp of the bandwidth taken up by these things but conscious if it's too much we'll run into issues - what do you think?

I guess you gotta try it to be sure it works. It should (don't stream at 1080p but reduce to 720p maybe).
In the Remote Control options of TeamViewer you should be able to switch between Best Quality and Best Speed; i'd choose the latter. Remove all unneccessary clutter (cursor, sound, ecc.).

You could also connect the Presentation PC via a 4G-Hotspot to the internet, no need to be on the same network as you import the HDMI output into OBS. Worth a try.

Yes I was thinking about this, I have a Teltonika router with a 4g sim in it to take over if this internet dies, could take that redundancy out and use that or try with my iPhone's hotspot which usually works fine but occasionally fails me.. Decisions decisions..! Really appreciate all your help, many thanks
