Hello all boot-camp mac users, it has been many months / years and I have FINALLY found a solution to recording internal audio on obs, and being able to hear it at the same time. Below is a fix on how to do so.
EVERYTHING HERE IS FREE AND ACCESSIBLE BY ALL.
Tutorial by Perlon
Step 1: Go VB-AUDIO (link provided in first comment) and download the windows version of VBCABLE. It looks like this.
Step 2: Set all the files inside the zipped file into a separate folder, that is unzipped. Right click the .exe file that says " VBCABLE_Setup_x64 " and run as an admin. once you run it, click the install button, and trust the installation. A restart / reboot may be necessary for this to happen, but i recommend restarting after.
Step 3: Open Sound Control Panel.
(i) To find, use the Search Tab to access "sound settings". Once on sound settings,
(ii) click "Sound control panel" in the top right corner. Click the second tab that says "Recording".
(iii) Right click anywhere in the panel and select "show disabled devices" and "show disconnected devices". You should see something called Cable Output, if not try to reboot your computer, or check if you ran and installed it as administrator.
(iv) right click Cable Output, and select properties.
(v) Select the listen tab (second tab) and check the box that says "listen to this device".
(vi) Underneath this, you will see "Playback through this device:". Change that to what you want it to play through, either your headphones or speakers.
(vii) (IMPORTANT) in recording, select Cable Input found in the "Playback" tab and set it to your default device. you do not need to make the Cable Output as your default device too unless you experience issues recording / using your microphone.
(viii) all done! Any additional questions can be asked in the comments.
