Folks,
I have OBS Studio up and running on Ubuntu Mate 16.04 just installed the latest and
greatest OBS Studio works great with USB camera sources, I need to stick a frame
grabber card in to test some analog cameras I have too.
I purchased a BMD Intensity Pro 4K and installed it, system sees it and will talk to
it. I can run Media Express and capture/monitor in the HDMI video input just fine.
Here is the interesting thing, I have a old Samsung Blu-Ray/DVD disk drive. It outputs
video on the HDMI port, it is HDCP protected, but I have a stripper device that cleans
that up just fine. I use the Samsung drive as my local video source at home. I have also
used the satellite HDMI port video and the HDMI video off of a Roku I have here. The
card sees the video and receives the audio from all of them and I can watch all of the
video streams with Media Express.
But if I go to OBS Studio, some of them are viewable and others give a black screen.
I am going to concentrate on two devices, the B-R/DVD source I use at home and the
DVD source that I will use this system with at the final place of usage. My source I shall
call MySource and the other TheirSource.
I take a video DVD and put it in MySource and check it out on both Media Express and
OBS, both of them can view the video stream it is at 1080p59.94, Media Express reported
that rate, I set OBS to that rate and got good video.
I go to TheirSource, and try the same thing, Media Express shows good video at the
1080p59.94 rate, OBS Studio gives me a black screen. I have tried to figure out what
is going on but no joy. I have included the log files from OBS Studio, the first one time
wise is the capture using MySource, the second one is the capture using TheirSource.
Can someone take a look at the two attached log files and see what is going on ? I am
not real sure, it appears that it maybe a timing thing but not sure.
