Question / Help Blue Yeti Microphone delayed audio... fix?

Ok so I have been using the blue snowball for while now and on OBS, I've never had to delay the mic to match my webcam footage.

But the Blue Yeti I just purchased is off sync... Is this normal? Anyone know the ms value I would need to set it to match?

Ok so I found that a 250ms delay on the mic seems to sync it with the logitech c920 that I'm using. The weird thing is that OBS is the only thing that need the audio to be delayed for it to match the video. If I'm using skype, google+, my webcam capture program, premiere pro... they all are in sync. Maybe there is something in OBS that needs to be coded for this particular mic?

Needing to sync the audio is pretty standard. If you're using the 1080p resolution on the c920, it will incur more delay than running at 720p or lower as well. Most of the programs you listed don't by default run at 1080, while OBS does. It's your webcam being slow (and having to delay the incoming audio to match up) causing this.

Are you using the c920 in I420 mode? It can help a little bit, as can opening Device Manager and using 'view devices by connection' to ensure your webcam is the only device on its root hub/USB controller (so nothing else could be using any of the bandwidth available to that controller, and thereby 'choking' the cam, causing erratic delay... which is a PITA to fix).

Just so you know, if you ever have sync issues, and none of the options in advanced for example help, you can always manually sync it up with "mic time offset" (I should rename that to "Mic Sync" so people don't get confused over its function). You can set both positive and (in your case) negative numbers, in milliseconds. If your mic is off by a few hundred milliseconds, say if the mic comes in 300 milliseconds later than expected, you can set -300 in that box to fix it.

Also note that you can increased the allowed negative offset by increasing "scene buffering time" in advanced.
