Hey everyone,

Right now I'm trying to use a Blackmagic Intensity Shuttle 3.0 to connect my Canon XA10 to my computer via HDMI. My goal is to use the camera as another video capture source for streaming. Right now when I try to put it as a source it only displays a black or red screen in OBS. Any ideas of what I'm simply missing here? I haven't been able to find information about this anywhere else and I appreciate the help!

-Kind regards

Has anyone successfully gotten OBS to use a blackmagic intensity shuttle usb 3.0 to capture a camera as a source? Any help with the setup would be greatly appreciated.

BlackMagic devices are extremely finicky to get working right. Their drivers are pretty dumb. You have to set them up on the capturing computer at exactly the right resolution and frame rate, or it just won't work. Make sure you have everything exactly right in your video capture device properties, because it probably won't work automatically.

Also keep in mind that the Intensity Shuttle's max supported resolution is 1920x1080 interlaced, so if your camera is outputting 1080p, you won't be able to get any input from it at all. You have to set your camera's output resolution to either 1280x720 or 1080i.

Any ideas on how to do that paibox? Would I have to try and use composite cables instead of HDMI? How would I know what the specific settings are to get it to display in OBS? When I try to add it as an video capture device in OBS I get 2 choices for device - Blackmagic WDM Capture (which doesn't have much when I go to configure,) and Decklink Video Capture (which gives me a Blackmagic design properties when I try to configure it with a video and timecode format.)

Faucius did you ever get the Intensity Shuttle working with your Canon XA10? I am trying for a similar setup with no luck.
