Bug Report Blackmagic Intensity Pro Blackscreening

Hello, I have a blackmagic intensity pro capture card that was working fine on default settings until build .580, when some fix was released to help prevent blackscreening for blackmagic/decklink devices. This actually had the opposite effect in my case. I was able to fix it but I had to use the custom resolution check box in order to fix it since the resolution was not properly being detected as before.

Let me know if you need more information about the issue. Not a huge deal but it was very confusing to me for awhile why my capture just stopped working.

The latest dev build (OBS-00.58.02-e93c809-x64) has the same issue for me.

So I usually get two capture device options, one is Blackmagic WDM Capture, and the other is Decklink Video Capture. Before I'm pretty sure I was using the Blackmagic version without issues, but now I have to use the Decklink one because it is the only one that lets me select the correct resolution and fps in the custom settings.

My fps options are 50, 59.9402, and 60.0002, for the last one.

Not sure if that helps.

Thanks for looking into it.

In my experience, Blackmagic WDM Capture has always mostly been a hack solution in place for applications that can't properly use separate devices for video and sound. Decklink Video Capture is most definitely the one you should be using.

There shouldn't be any difference when using custom, the only change was for when not using custom (automatic resolution/fps). I would highly recommend using automatic for blackmagic devices (and use "decklink", not "blackmagic wdm capture"), it will then select the resolution you have it set to in the blackmagic config automatically

Yeah I know that is what should happen, but the problem is it doesn't actually do it automatically. From the device selection screen I can hit the configure button for the Decklink capture and I get to the configuration screen. From here I can select the correct resolution and fps and hit ok, at this point I would expect the disabled options in the video section to change to the configured resolution and fps, but they don't. I then hit ok in the device selection and I still get a black screen. Then when I go back into device selection and hit configure again, the settings have reset.

Unless you are talking about some other configuration place.

Could you let me teamviewer you some time so I can see this with your device? I don't know if my own blackmagic minirecorder is functioning the same, as that's what I used for testing

Hello,

I have a blackscreen with my Blackmagic Intensity Pro 4k capture card (my webcam works).
With Blackmagic Media Express (a capture software) I receive a stream.
So I think I have got the wrong settings in Open Broadcaster Software v0.658b.

Input in Blackmagic Intensity Pro 4k capture card:
1080p, 1920 x 1080 (native)
Refresh rate: 60Hz
Desktop color depth: Highest(32-Bit)
Output color format: YCbCr422
Output color depth: 10 bpc

When I try to add a global Video Capture Device I can select two devices "Decklink Video Caputre" and "Blackmagic WDM Caputre".
With "Blackmagic WDM Caputre" I get an error "Invalid Resolution".
With "Decklink Video Caputre" I get a blackscreen.

Please help me.

Now it works with Decklink Video Caputre and Custom Resolution.

I have some question about the settings:
Use Output Format: Should I use HDYC because inputsingal is YCBCr422 ?
Use Buffering (milliseconds): What does this mean?
Color Space: Should I use 709? I saw 709 is for HD and my inputsingal is HD.
Use Full Range: When I select YCBCR422 in my NVIDIA Control Panel (inputsignal) the Output dynamic range set to Limited and the Selectbox is disabled. Is this setting only for RGB?
