black square instead of stream after the update to 27.2.2

I just updated OBS to 27.2.2 today. Everything looks nice in OBS with all my cameras, mics and screens but when I select the virtual camera from zoom or google meet (or any other app) it looks like a black 4;3 square.

it looks the same regardless if the virtual camera is starter or not and the usual screen which was visible when obs was not operational is no longer seen. The logi app still performs proper on the same machine (but I will rather use OBS for obvious reasons)

this is a screen capture with the obs the in the background with everything working properly (virtual camera on) and google meet in front with the square black box for OBS virtual camera.

it looks the same for any other application using the obs camera and everything worked just fine until the update.

bummer... tried all former solutions for black screen related issues. the funny thing is that the same black screen screen can be seen even when OBS is closed.
If I select the OBS virtual camera in google meet (or any other similar software) I get the ”camera on/active” message anyway instead of the camera unavailable image I used to get before the update

I'm seeing "camera starting" in Google Meets, so no errors about not being able to start the cam (and it's all fine in OBS preview as you posted), but just sits there with the black image. Several restarts, with no joy and reverted to previous version and it was working again.

This is on Windows 10 with an AMD CPU and GPU.

I don't want to use an additional plug-in as I'm not using a network based webcamera (NDI = Network Device Interface), the functionality that works in 27.2.1 should also work in 27.2.2
