I would like to start off by saying I've spent the past 2 hours Googling, and yes! I have read the "Laptop? Black screen when capturing? Read here first." thread.
TL;DR: Windowed Mode (Photoshop) is blinking at a very rapid rate on the OBS preview and Twitch - but only when live. Monitor Capture is Black (both live and offline), despite reading and adhering to the recommended settings in the thread mentioned above.
So I've used OBS for a while now and only recently have I had issues. It started when trying to play Tales of Zestiria over Steam. It was blinking VERY rapidly and I didn't want to give my viewers a seizure so I stopped. At first it was just black, but over a group chat we were able to get it working in borderless windowed mode. When we got the flashing to stop, it would run slow and eventually crash OBS. So I switched to Photoshop with no issues and we had a grand time doodling.
Tonight I opened OBS and Photoshop and the personal-preview in OBS looked fine so I hit Start Streaming. My friend notified me that it was blinking again so I stopped. The blinking only happens when live. When off, the preview stream and recording does not pick up on the blinking. I have Photoshop in Window-Capture.
When I try to do a Monitor Capture, the screen is black. This is where I mentioned I read " Laptop? Black screen when capturing? Read here first.". I DID go into my Nvid settings and change it how it was recommended, but it's still black. If both monitor, OBS and Photoshop are Nvid, or all Integ, it's black. However, if I drag and click on the desktop, sometimes parts of the desktop screen come through. Same with mousing over the icons or scroll bars - they'll show up. But the majority is still black.
It's strange that it was fine the other night. Photoshop at least. And I've used it to draw before playing Tales Of, where it first started causing problems.
But right now, I'd like for it to stop blinking! The black Monitor Capture doesn't bother me since Photoshop works in the Window Capture. I just don't want to give anyone a seizure! When in Window Capture, when I minimize Photoshop it will stop blinking...
Using a Lenovo V570, which has a Nvid Geforce GT 525M card and an integrated Intel card. My second monitor is 1080p, which is what I run games and Photoshop on. Monitor Capture comes up black on both the laptop on second monitor (it used to only be black on the second monitor, but now it's both.)
Chrome crashes when I try to paste the Log file in code brackets, so the log file tonight that had the worst blinking has been attached to this post. Later in the night, I tried to change the bitrate from 1800 to the defaulted 1000. In video settings, I changed the size from 'custom' to just 'monitor 2'. The numbers were the same, but the blinking changed a bit from a full screen black blinking to parts of the screen. The log files seem identical, however, except for the bitrate change.
