Question / Help Black screen

Hi there, I'm trying to stream using the Xbox app on windows 10. However, when I try to do so, the screen is black. I am not using an el gato or any other capture card. I am trying to stream from the app directly.
 
The app itself does not render in a way that can be captured by anything other than monitor/display capture.
 
is there any other way to do it without the el gato? I want to get in to the whole streaming shindig but I'm a little low on caps (Or money if you're not a fallout fan)
 
not really, no. You need to use a capture card to avoid using monitor capture like that.

It's a limitation of the app.
