Question / Help Black screen

So I've been trying to record a game using the display capture and all i get is this black screen.
I've tried a few different methods and nothing seems to be working so far.

You're on a laptop. This is one of the many reasons laptops are not recommended for livestreaming. You have to choose between using Desktop Capture, or Game+Window capture. Desktop capture should be avoided if at all possible as it is the least-performant capture method, and has several large drawbacks. You also will likely not be able to use NVENC for encoding.
If there is no other option, here is how to set OBS to run on the iGPU so Display Capture will work (but Game and Window Capture will not):

You did not do it correctly. Did you follow the linked guide above, or did you use the outdated nVidia Control Panel method that doesn't work any more?

yes i even went as to uninstall and reinstall to make sure i did the process right.
