Currently running Windows 8 with the most recent DirectX update. I'm still getting a black screen when I try to do just desktop streaming. I'm not specifically trying to stream a game I just want to stream everything that's on the desktop but I just keep getting a black screen. I don't really know what to do from here.

If possible, please post a log file.

Also, there's a new desktop capture for windows 8 coming very soon that's super fast. So even if you don't resolve this issue now you'll definitely be able to get it working soon.

Aero can't be disabled in Windows 8. Until Jim gets in a specific version of Monitor Capture for Windows 8, it's going to be very laggy.

testing windows 8 capture in 0.458 pre-release 2. only captures the main monitor, and can't be cropped, but it's a start.

Streaming Windows 8 Monitor Capture for 30 mins and so far it seems perfectly fine. Thumbnail are updating
correctly as well.
BTW. What was wrong in previous versions with Win 8 Monitor Capture?

Log after ~30mins of streaming: http://pastebin.com/dvUr9uEq

Due to how Windows 8 works, there's a new way for capturing the monitor that Jim is using. Before, it was using the same way as Vista/7, which is really laggy if Aero is enabled and Aero can't be turned off in Windows 8.

If you have windows 8 just right click and click troubleshoot compatibility and and choose windows vista (service pack 2) and you're done!
