Question / Help Black Screen Window capture

I'm trying to use OBS to capture the video coming from my Hauppauge.
I go in to window capture, and select the desired area, but when I click ok, the picture that comes up on my screen does is just black, even though the gameplay is shown in the hauppauge game capture program.

Use OBS Studio and add it as a video capture device.

It took a bit of fiddling to find out about the filter function in stead of sub region in window capture, but I found it.

Don't window capture to capture a hauppage.
