Question / Help Black Screen when using game capture

I've been using OBS for local recordings for a while now. All has been good until I tried to use the game capture to work along side an overlay program that analyzes, encodes and applies a leaderboard overlay to iracing replays. I have not been able to get it to work for me but it is a beta so I was not to concerned until I went back to just using my usual OBS setup and found that my game capture will no longer work. I have tired everything I know to do including un and reinstaling OBS. Here is my last log. Hope you can help.

Based on the log file you've pointed the game capture source at OBS itself. Open your game capture source properties and either point it at the correct running process, or assign a hotkey and press that hotkey while your game has focus.

First off thanks for your quick responce Sapiens. I believe thats is how I have it. I put up a second monitor to check it and I have refreshed the list and selected the game while in the race/capture screen on my main monitor.I have a hot key asigned as well. While going through the process of using both hot keys to start the game capture and than to start the recording everything seems to be fine but still only capturing a black screen with web cam. Note photo included.

A webcam should be added as a video capture device, not with the game capture plugin.

No I guess I wasn't clear sorry. Not using my web cam as the game capture. They web cam is part of the scene as well as the game capture plugin.

Could you post an updated log file with the game capture source pointed at the correct process? Is this problem limited to iRacing or is game capture not working with other games as well?

Well I tried it on Counter Strike and it worked so I went back to Iracing and wa la! it is working there as well. Do not ask me how as I did nothing different than I have been. Thanks for the help

I'm back lol Not sure why but all of a sudden OBS game capture is not working again it seems to hook the game and has audio but no video. I have a new video card but all has been fine up until today and the although its not in the log because I have it turned off I installed a new web cam. I have all other apps that may hook the game shut down and have allowed the iracing exe through my virus protection and fire wall. Only using OBS for local recording to file. here is my last log.

Nobody? I tried it with COD and a few other games I have and it's working just fine... also have tried changing Iracing to 32 bit...No change. From everything I have read here it seems to be iRacing specific what I don't get is why would it work flawlessly for months and than just up and quit? I tried a trial versionl of Xsplit and although it's a paid service and a little more complated to use I might have to make the move. Really could use some help here please>

Are you using Razer Synapse? If so, close it

No none of that. I did a system restore and that did the trick. But still don't understand why it stoped working I got a new web cam as a Christmas gift and all I did was uninstall my old cam drivers and install the new one lol.
