Hi All, I am trying to record a video of me playing dungeons and dragons online, but the recording is a black screen with audio, I set it up with game capture

Game capture doesn't work on every game. If it doesn't, use display or window capture.

It has to be something to do with DnD online. I'm streaming it as well, and I'm having huge problems. I have no issues with Heroes of Hammer Watch or WoW.

Still struggling to nail it down exactly.

I finally got it working last night. Woke up this morning, tried to stream, it black screened.

ZERO settings changed.

I'm about to try a different stream app and see if they're all having the same problem. If they are then DnD is kinda toast for streaming unless you want to use a sub par set up. If they aren't then OBS has some sort of problem with DnD they need to fix.

OK. So I flipped between Heroes of Hammerwatch, Everpath, and Dungeons and Dragons online. No issues at all with HoHW or EP.

Suddenly DDO started working again.

There's something not talking right between how it renders and how OBS detects when a game is full screen. Not sure what's going on there, but it just randomly decides not to work. It doesn't do it in the middle of a stream, but like when you open the game. Once it locks, it works, but next time you try to open the game it may not.

Weird.

16:52:40.215: - source: 'Display Capture' (monitor_capture)
16:52:40.215: - source: 'Minecraft' (game_capture)

Having multiple capture types (either more than one game capture, or game and display captures together) can cause unpredictable behavior. Any two sources in the same scene that are expecting to be full screen sources may conflict with each other.

Yeah, I had already deleted all that after reading about the problem. I'm running game capture, a browser overlay, a single web cam, and one text box. That's it.

And yet again today, it simply decided not to work.

If I shut it down fifteen times and restart it, it'll start working again.

This is clearly a bug.
