Black screen when capturing app windows

I seem to have the opposite problem to everybody else. I can capture Chrome easily, but literally any other app, I just get a black screen (see attached). I tried changing the graphics settings for OBS to High Performance as suggested elsewhere, but this made no difference. I'm using a Surface Pro. Thanks in advance for any advice anybody can give me.
