Question / Help Black Screen Volgarr the Viking

I am pretty new to the software but was able to successfully stream Dark Souls over my Twitch channel without much difficulty. However, I am stumped in my attempts to stream Volgarr the Viking. Everytime I get audio but the screen on the stream preview is solid black... I have tried adjusting resolutions of both the capture, the game and the monitor itself. The reason I thought that might be the issue is because my main monitor that I am playing off of is a 2560x1440 resolution but the game will only run at 1920x1080. Again Dark Souls worked like a charm but not sure what is happening with Volgarr.... any tips would be very helpful!!!

Try setting up the Game Capture hotkey function in the Game Capture source properties. It can be a lot more reliable about grabbing games. After you've set the hotkey, start streaming, then tab into your game and press the hotkey.

This game should work fine with Game Capture as it's a DX9 game (apparently)

I tried the shortcut key with no success. It appears to be picking up the audio of the game as I can see that responding on the OBS correctly just no video. I also tried running it in window modes but no luck there either.


Also since I am new to this I tested a couple other games both of which worked: Diablo 3 and Spelunky

Never use desktop capture except as an absolute last-resort. It's slow as hell even with Aero off, and can cause MAJOR lag in the game itself. Volgarr will work fine in windowed mode, with a window capture.
