Question / Help Black Screen, Using desktop

Hi there, im having trouble recording game capture with obs, i can record the game perfectly fine in window mode or monitor capture, i just want to stretch the video to match the screen to avoid black bars which isnt possible so far as i am aware in the window'd mode. i get a black screen when attempting to record the game, the game is Oldschool Runescape if that has any relevence and my system specs are: Intel Core 2 Quad @2.50Ghz, 4gb ddr2 ram, ATI Radeon 5450 1gb, windows 7 ultimate x64.

If you need to stretch the game then either your base resolution is set wrong, or you're using a 16:10 monitor in which case black bars are quite normal.

ok, thanks for your help, my monitor resolution is 1280 x 1024. i set the base resolution to 1280 x 720 and i cant get the game to the right size, kinda frustrating but i will juts have to put up with it. thanks again for the help :)

This is because you have a 1280x720 scene and are trying to fit a 1280x1024 image into it. You would need to run the game itself at 1280x720 or some other 16:9 aspect ratio. Refer to https://obsproject.com/forum/threads/how-to-select-the-correct-resolution-aspect-ratio.4233/ for more information.
