Black screen recorded, old game, laptop

Brand new user here.

Since yesterday I am trying to record a gaming session of an old game (Vampire: The Masquerade: Bloodlines, in the GoG version) with OBS on my laptop.

I have tried everything I could think of - and I still consistently only get black screens recorded. Audio is fine.

I have upgraded to the most recent NVIDIA drivers.

I have set both OBS and VtMB to use the nVidia card (nVidia GeForce GTX 1050), not the powersaving card.

I have tried Game Capture and Display Capture; since apparently Display Capture is recommented for this game, I have tested mostly that one.

I have run OBS in administrator and regular rights, as well as tried running both the game and OBS as administrator.

I have switched between software and nVidia NVENC.

But all I get is still just a black screen (with correct audio).

No idea what else I could try ?

The "analyze" button of the logfile just says "everything is fine".

Actually since that one complaints I dont run in administrator, I made another one (but I was running Display Capture anyway): https://obsproject.com/logs/ZvQo50DXeZ83tSbg

Got it to run with setting both OBS and VtMB to energy saving.

I dont understand why I need to use the WEAKER of these two cards but hey, at least it works now :)
