Question / Help black screen on multiple monitors (not related to integrated graphics)

I have a PC with multiple monitors. One is a Cintiq display tablet, and the other an ultra wide monitor. the cintiq displays from the hdmi port and the wide screen uses the display port. Since the last update, (today) I have not been able to capture the widescreen monitor. I get the notorious black screen. It will display and stream fine from the cintiq. It only affects the widescreen monitor which is my main screen. I have tried multiple things so far and this is not related to the integrated graphics problem that so many people are posting as a resolution. I am wondering if it is related to the fact it runs through the display port?

This is a Windows 10 pc with a gtx 970 card and both monitors running from the card and not using the card on the motherboard. I know in other threads I've seen people posting logs but I do not know how to do that so if you need that please let me know how to create and/or retrieve this log.

Thanks!

Update: it just started working again but this is not the first time this has happened. I have not made any new changes since I posted this originally so I have no idea what is different now. All I did do was create a new scene, added display capture and after a couple minutes it started working. But not just on the new scene but on the original one that wasn't working.

Is this a common problem? Because it's happened on and off for awhile now, but only this time did it not start displaying for as long as it did. When it's happened in the past it's come back after just a few minutes.
