So I am aware this is a common issue with Nvidia Laptops, And I have searched tutorial videos and these are the things I have tried so far:
  • Restarting the computer
  • updating my graphics card
  • check for OBS updates
  • tried running in compatibility mode (win7 and win8)
  • changed OBS 3D settings on Nvidia Control Panel to intergrated graphics
I am going to try to simply uninstall the reinstall OBS studio again, can anyone give me any more tricks that might help?

OBS is running on your Nvidia card. It needs to run on the Intel GPU to perform display capture.

Laptop? Black screen when capturing? Read here first.

No, in the nvidia control panel is where you do it. If you set it there and it doesn't work, check that your nvidia drivers are up to date and inquire with their support if the panel isn't working.

Hello, I have the same display capture problem, but it occurred after the last update of windows 10 (1909). Already using the capture and working correctly, could it be some OBS incompatibility with the update or some side effect of the update?

Thanks

Edit 1:
I uninstalled update 1909 and display capture went back to work

I can confirm that the 1909 update broke my ability to use the nvida control panel to force obs to use my ingratiated graphics card. i was able to uninstall the update and my obs worked fine. i dont know if this helps.

To all of you who make obs what it is: THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!
