I have run into the black screen issue. I have no problem recording audio, and originally when I first set up my recording was working perfectly. Suddenly, one night it was only displaying a black screen. I attempted updating my OBS and uninstalling and re-installing it. Neither of those basic fixes worked so I started looking into it through Google and these forums. I attempted following the instructions for setting it to run with my NVIDIA graphics card, but it's still only giving me a black display. What I am wanting is to set up so I can record what ever is on my screen. Not necessarily gaming, but to record things like Skype, or just what I am doing in general. Anybody know how I can fix my OBS and get this set up working?
