Question / Help black screen for monitor capture

hello I am just starting to learn how to stream using my Lenovo Y50 laptop. My webcam shows and my gaming shows but my monitor doesn't... is there a way to learn how to have my monitor screen not be black? I am not that computer friendly especially when it comes to gaming but any advice will be great.
Please do not comment anything regarding the fact that streaming is very hard with a laptop, I am aware.

Probably by changing the current video device to intel in the nvidia control panel. Not entirely sure htough, it varies from laptop to laptop.
