Question / Help Black Screen even after changing Nvidia settings and obs settings.

Hi, I'm having a strange problem. I'm getting a black screen when I have monitor capture selected using my Lenovo Y50 laptop. I have (multiple times) gone to the Nvidia settings and made sure that the Nvidia graphics card was selected for obs as well as making sure it was selected in the obs settings. Now the strange thing is I had obs on this exact laptop before and could use monitor capture without an issue, but the game capture wouldn't work, same black screen problem. I ended up doing a factory reset of the laptop hoping this would fix it, (as well as some other unrelated issues) and reinstalled obs. Now the monitor capture isn't working at all. Also game capture works for some games but not the one I'd mainly like to stream. I've tried uninstalling obs and reinstalling, changing the resolution in obs settings, nothing i do seems to work. I understand that monitor capture is inefficient on laptops but when i try to do window capture it will only capture a portion of my screen and the rest of it is black. Also this still doesn't fix the issue of game capture still giving me a black screen. Not sure if this is a lenovo issue or an obs issue. I had an asus K55a laptop until recently which ran obs perfectly fine with screen and game capture.

The instructions in the laptop/black screen thread are for getting window and game capture working with switchable graphics laptops. Doing so makes monitor capture not work. Undoing the changes should make monitor capture work but window and game capture not work. You have to choose between [monitor capture] and [window and game capture].
