Question / Help Black Screen DX8 GameCapture + GameCrashing

Hello,

I'm getting a black gamecapture on my PC for UT2004.
On my tablet however everything runs fine on default OBS settings...
The logs for both machines are enclosed.

What I tried to get it working:
- Tried 32 & 64 bit OBS
- Tried different encoding captures
- Tried DirectX and OpenGL game boot
- Re-install my game and boot it on default settings
- Compatability mode + admin boot the game
- Install all Windows Updates and install Nvidia's latest Forceware.

Are you able to capture other games on your PC with OBS?
Yes, CSGO works flawless on default settings...

Are you able to capture UT2004 with other programs?
- With XSplit GameCaster I can capture UT2004 in OpenGL on high fps with small game stutter, in DX modus my fps ingame is terrible. That despite my CPU somewhat being idle following the ingame onscreen CPU / FPS info.
- With Nvidia ShadowPlay I have no issues at all.

I can't tell what the problem is by looking at your log files. It's especially weird as it calls SetupD3D8 but doesn't output the descriptor info nor prints an error. Maybe some thread crashed or something like that. By the way, does the capture work correctly on your tablet? Because the log file says it's a 1920x360 screen, looks weird to me.

The capture works correct and the log is correct.

I use my tablet sometimes to give support on Steam and there was a guy having fov issues with triple screen setup. 1080/3 = 360 so I could reproduce the same fov experience. The capture of OBS looked indeed stretched, but I knew where that was coming from ;)
