I have been using OBS1 version 656b on Windows 10 for quite some time with no problems, Today, I kept getting a black screen when I try to Capture Window from Chrome. I tried full window and inner window, with and without compatibility mode. It is always a black screen. Monitor capture works fine though, however. Then I found out that I can capture from some apps while not other apps. I get black screen for Chrome, Edge, Movies & TV, News, Photos, Mail, OneNote etc, but it works fine for Outlook, Opera, Adobe Reader Google Earth and other older apps.
I think the one thing I changed was clicked yes to the upgrade for game capture yesterday. I do not capture games, so it was not important to me. I clicked yes just so that I don't get asked again. So I uninstalled OBS1, deleted all OBS folders and reinstalled trying both version 657b and 656b. The same problem persisted in both versions.
Log file 1455-51 is from a single attempt to preview Window Capture form Chrome.
