Bug Report Black recording (w/ sound) and crash at stream end

So I just installed OBS today to record my Mechwarrior Online games for later review, and I haven't been able to get it to work so far. I'm using the 64 bit version, running as admin since it noted that it wouldn't be able to capture MWO otherwise. I set up a scene for MWO, with just one source - a 'game capture' source set up to start and stop by hitting F12. I didn't change any of the default settings otherwise apart from disabling my mic and setting it to record to a file instead of streaming.

I've been trying to record by hitting f12 as soon as the game starts loading the map, and then stopping it again at the end of round score screen. When I hit f12 to stop the recording, the typical windows 'error sound' plays, and when I exit the end of round screen I can see that OBS has crashed (pops up the 'crashed - do you want to see a crash log?' dialog box). In addition, when I try to watch the file that it output, I can hear the sound but there's no visual, just a blank black screen. I've tried 4 times so far with identical results. For the last of them I had also removed the SweetFX graphics/color tweak I had applied in case it was the cause of the problem, but there was no change. Anyone have any suggestions, or other info that I should post?

(quick edit: I got linked to this program by someone on the MWO forums who uses it, so I know that the program works for this game for at least one person.)

Thanks for the crash report, the issue has been fixed, but it is unrelated to why you are getting blank output. It's possible the game may use some kind of anti-cheat or similar that is blocking OBS. Does it work if you pick the game from the list instead of using a hotkey?

Huh. Well, it seems very strange, but picking from the list instead of using the hotkey worked. Not only did I get video, the program didn't crash when I stopped the stream (I hit the 'start streaming' button on the OBS window before I launched into the match, and 'stop streaming' to end once it was over).

...I never would have thought to try that, I wonder why that happens?
