Hi!
I got a problem with screen recording (not even gaming, just desktop recording).
It started since i changed from a 1920x1080 @60Hz screen to a 3840x2160 @120Hz screen.
They both use hdmi.
Also, there is gsync on the new one and color settings are quite different..

Anyway.. now my OBS preview is black/frozen and the recordings are quite bad, basically a frame every 10sec and quality is bad (but sound works great! yay?).

In OBS, I tried changing resolutions in "output" and "video" menus, I also tried multiple settings, color format... but it's not doing much.
Only thing that kinda work is "window capture", but even at "max quality" the result is horrible, far from what i had with my previous screen.

In windows, I tried to deactivate game mode, changing graphic settings for OBS, some in nvidia panel, etc. but no luck.

Also, I don't think it's a hardware problem since CPU usage is barely 4% during recording.(ryzen 3800x + rtx3080)
Last thing, at some point when I moved my mouse around, I managed to get a smoother preview (i mean the picture was kinda moving).

If someone got an idea? :)

Hi,
here's a log where I start a video on youtube with firefox.
Then I launch OBS, in the preview I can see the video frozen in the background although it is actually still playing.
I press record, go back to youtube, put the video in fullscreen, then after a few seconds back to normal, video still playing.
I go back to OBS, the preview has changed but it is still a frozen image.
Then I stop the recording and close OBS.

hope it helps!

Well looks like it's a pretty common problem.. and nobody told me :')
HDR not supported in OBS.
I hope it helps if someone is having the same issue and will not lose a few hours looking for the problem like I did...
