Question / Help Black Borders when streaming to Twitch

I have recently tried out OBS and love everything but the fact that I cannot get the stream output to not have black borders. I spent three hours last night trying to troubleshoot it myself and look for the answer on the forums and google but I just was not able to find it. Here is the info I can provide.

I run a dual monitor setup, one is 1600x900 which I use as the second monitor, and the main monitor is 1680x1050. I want to be able to use my main monitor for the stream, which is 1680x1050. I have my settings in OBS set to custom as 1680x1050. I have no resoultion downscale and the fps is set at 40. The properties of the software capture source is set to monitor capture 1 with only capture mouse cursor checked. When I preview the stream everything looks right, but when I stream that and watch the twitch channel the stream has black borders.

I would really really appreciate help as OBS runs better than xsplit and I would love to be able to use OBS as my main streaming program. My computer and internet are both capable of streaming at a high quality. I really dont think its a computer issue, but more of a setting or something that I am missing.

Thanks in advance.

The player on Twitch is always 16:9, and 1680x1050 is a 16:10 resolution, there will always be black borders unless you fullscreen the stream on a 16:10 monitor. You can however choose to broadcast at a 16:9 resolution and stretch your game footage to the screen ignoring aspect ratio by clicking "Edit Scene" and resizing the source for your game while holding down shift, but it's not really something I would recommend, since this distorts the image.

Thank you for your quick response. I guess I never realized that xsplit was also streaming with black borders too. Ha, I wish I was better with computers :) So basically if I was to upgrade my monitor, I would be able to use OBS to stream fullscreen without black borders?

yes...no... ;)
16:9 vs 16:10 , no matter what you do SOMEONE will ALWAYS have black borders on your stream.
