Question / Help Bizzare infuriating problem

I'm trying to stream with OBS but the program is acting as though I have only like 20 kilobytes/s upload speed. Streaming is not possible for me, yet it works fine for my brother.

I don't know if this is related but when I do a speed test on testmy.net it acts as though I have a tiny upload speed but works fine on my brothers computer (We both use win 8 x64).

I have absolutely no idea what this could be due to, I need help!

Any ideas?

Thanks

Well if your speedtest also only shows a tiny upload speed, that would explain why obs cannot use more. But it has to be something on your network or router setup if your brother can stream just fine. As soon as you can fix that OBS will work :)

I thought that might be the problem :( I just don't even know how to begin searching for such a problem/solution online.

Edit: Some programs can upload at full speed, utorrent has no problem maxing out my 8 megabit upload.

Do you have more than one network in your PC, for example wireless and wired? In that case I would probably deactivate the wireless and test just with the cable. It is really hard to say from a far.

I figured it out, the Killer NIC on my Z87GD65 mobo was not compatible with NetLimiter. Uninstalling it fixed the problem :)
