Hello my friends, I see that a bigger hosts file causes massive CPU hooks in OBS (I open OPBS -> 25-27% for nothing) + the fact if there is no internet avaible during the startup (while OBS is checking for updates) causes the program to 'freeze' till internet is back. There should be however a timeout to avoid it, maybe not mor than 60 seconds to manage the update check process. Same happens when OBS want to update itself via the internal updater, it hangs when the HOSTS file is big or when there is no internet, a simply timeout should avoid this.
