Bug Report Big HOSTS file causes massive lags + high CPU

Hello my friends, I see that a bigger hosts file causes massive CPU hooks in OBS (I open OPBS -> 25-27% for nothing) + the fact if there is no internet avaible during the startup (while OBS is checking for updates) causes the program to 'freeze' till internet is back. There should be however a timeout to avoid it, maybe not mor than 60 seconds to manage the update check process. Same happens when OBS want to update itself via the internal updater, it hangs when the HOSTS file is big or when there is no internet, a simply timeout should avoid this.

You should not run a large hosts file in the first place, it is only meant for local names. You will impact performance of all applications that use DNS with an excessively large hosts file.

I did some more testing seems this is an Windows RS 3 (Creators Update) issue, I tried to remove the entire HOSTS file but the same, OBS streight goes to 20-25% usage by just opening it. I tried to use another tool which claims to use less ressources (Gameshow) and it had around 10%.

Seems this is a Windows issue ... Makes it for me impossible to stream right now because it's way too much to handle. Even the video transitions are lagging like shit ... Sadly I can't give more than I already did.

Even if I remove all plugins it's the same, very low performance, dunno why. Even a basic HTML overlay laggs.
