Bible Verse Overlay Plugin for OBS – looking for feedback

Hi everyone

I’ve been working on a Bible verse overlay plugin for OBS, mainly focused on church livestreams, and I’d love to get some feedback from the community before publishing it as a full resource.

obs-demo.png

What it does
  • Display Bible verses directly in OBS
  • Clean and modern overlay (designed for livestreams)
  • Works with Local Browser Source + Dock (no complicated setup)
  • Real-time control of what is shown on screen
  • Designed to integrate smoothly with worship and preaching

How it works

The plugin uses:
  • a custom browser control panel (dock inside OBS)
  • a browser source for rendering the verse overlay
  • dynamic updates to display verses instantly
Similar concept to other browser-based plugins, but optimized for simplicity and design

Feedback I’m looking for

I develop this solution primarily to solve my own problem, but I think it's worth sharing.
  • Would you use something like this in your church?
  • What features are missing from your workflow?
  • Are you having any issues with the current solutions?
  • What features would you like a tool like this to have?
Thank you for taking the time to read and leave your comments

Wrong place for a plugin publication. I personally would not trust at all on someone posting on wrong places when there's a place an a method to follow.

This post isn't about sharing the plugin, but about asking for feedback on what needs you have or what you'd like to see in a plugin like this.

This is very nice, is there any download link to install and test this?
For now, I have it on my GitHub. I tried to publish it in the community, but the moderators strongly oppose tools that use AI, and I used it to speed up my workflow.I'm not sharing the link out of respect for the community and its rules.

I hope to be able to publish it in the future, or remake it from scratch without using AI, so that it complies with the policies.

Well @PaiSand is correct, first of all you must be patient because resource approval can take up to a few days, if you read the rules you'll see that the resource appears as deleted until approved but that doesn't mean it was deleted and making another topic just in a rush shows a bit of desperation. On the other hand I'd definitely check https://obsproject.com/forum/search/5733558/?q=bible&c[title_only]=1&o=date first, because there are already quite a few tools using that same Bible API. Since many are quick AI-generated overlays, the moderators may be looking for something a bit more unique. I realized it’s often more helpful to just give feedback to an existing tool rather than making a duplicate, I took off some of my resources for the same reason. It might be worth seeing how you can add a unique twist to yours so it really stands out!

I completely understand what you're saying and I agree. Personally, I see that plugins or alternatives for the Bible require using external tools. My plugin was specifically designed to not depend on anything outside of OBS, such as a browser, another app, etc.

I understand that I posted this in the wrong place due to a lack of knowledge. I think I'll delete it to avoid attracting the wrong kind of attention. This post isn't about installing the plugin, but rather about asking for ideas from people who have experienced this same need.
