Question / Help Best Twitch Stream Settings For Me

Hello,

So i've recently started live streaming on twitch.tv. I can livestream Dead by Daylight just fine minimal stream issues (i.e. dropped frames etc.) However, I fear that DbD might be the only game that i can stream with my current stream settings. I'd like to be a variety streamer and tried to stream rainbow six siege and it was terrible for my cpu. It immediately started to encode at too high of a rate and caused the stream to be choppy as ever.

That being said I was just wondering what my options are. Below is a list of my system hardware. I'd like to know:

A. the best obs settings for my hardware to stream at a decent quality/fps on twitch for all games?
B. If my hardware is just simply too bad to stream most games period?
C. If I should save my money to upgrade my pc or get a second pc and do a two pc stream set-up?
and D. If i do/should do a two pc stream set-up what is the MINIMUM i need to put into the second (stream) pc as far as hardware goes. (I.E. do i need a graphics card at all other than onboard? etc.)

Thanks,
Knight0834

This hardware information about my system is straight out of system information.

Post a logfile from the Help menu from a live session at least 5 minutes in length, as it requests whenever a new thread is opened in Q&H. It will contain all of your pertinent system specs and current OBS settings, as well as back-end information about what's going on with OBS to point out other problems.

That said, your CPU is workable for a 720p@30fps stream.
R6 however is coded almost as badly as BF4, and may require additional minerals to stream correctly depending on settings.

Yes, absolutely. I do apologize for forgetting to upload those. Here they are.

The first logfile is from my most recent stream. I played DbD just fine for a good portion of the stream just fine and tried to play R6 and everything went to shit.

The second logfile is from my stream last friday where all I played was DbD. Once again. DbD so far is the only game i've tried to stream that works relatively fine.

And I greatly appreciate the quick response!!

Couple of issues:
1) You're running your webcam at 1080p. Unless you need it there for a specific reason, run it at lower; 1280x720 is overkill in most cases. For many Logitech cams, 1080 can cause performance issues in high load situations. There are workarounds, but really... it's entirely unnecessary when you're streaming at 720p anyway, and just makes the system work harder for no benefit. Also, set it up as a Global Source; doesn't appear to be from the log, unless I'm misreading it.

2) You're using MP3 audio. Stop it. AAC is much better and higher quality while using less needed bitrate. MP3 is there as a fallback only, generally for people using Vista SP1. And you're not.

3) 3500kbps is absolutely unreasonably high bitrate if you're a non-partnered caster. 2000kbps maximum. While the ingests are rated up to 3500, it will be an unwatchable, buffering hell mess for most people. Twitch released viewer metrics a bit back saying that 2000 is about as high as you want to go if you don't reliably have transcoding available. Even going to 2200 showed a significant increase in buffering events on average. 3000 is entirely unwatchable for many.

Now back to the game. It looks like BattlEye is preventing OBS from hooking the game, as it may not be whitelisted by Ubisoft. You may need to go into windowed fullscreen mode and use a window capture instead, or use a Monitor Capture with all of the concerns that carries.

1) That makes sense on the camera. Never thought about that. It actually is set to global source already. :) at least i got that right! lol

2) I had it set to mp3 because i read that using mp3 vs AAC will increase the stream performance because mp3 is easier to encode? Apparently wrong. Don't believe everything you read on the internet. Easily fixable.

3) I set it to 3500 because twitch.tv's bitrate tester website (for all i know it might not have been a legit twitch.tv site) said that it was recommended for my upload/DL speeds.

4) i tried fullscrean mode with window capture and it still doesn't show. So I went to borderless and it works.

Thanks for the very fast responses again!

My only other question is with my money being tight right now which would be a better upgrade option. (better defined as best stream quality for price) Upgrading my pc to switch from amd to intel for obvious reasons, or build/buy a new intel pc and use my current as a slave stream PC like you do for your two pc stream?
