Best settings for PS5 4K30 recording on OBS Studio with Elgato HD60 X?

Hello, I recently got myself an Elgato HD60 X with OBS Studio for a better recording of my racing games. As said in the title, I have a PS5, and the computer I use is Apple's latest 16-inch MacBook Pro laptop, equipped with Apple Silicon M2 Pro chip. With the Thunderbolt 4 cable I bought to connect to my laptop, I am generally satisfied with how the capture card is working, and the maximum recording resolution of 4K30 is quite fine. However, I wish I could find a good setting for me to stick with while recording on 4K30. I wish to get help especially regarding the recording format, audio encoder, and encoder settings.

Hi, I have recently been trying to get help for a similar thing, I'm also capturing ps5 footage with an Elgato HD60X onto a iMac m1.
I have had no responses at all so I don't know whether we are asking incorrect things or it's just not a very helpful forum, but I've tried both 4k 30fps recordings and 1440 60fps recordings to try and see which I prefer the look of the best.
I use the Apple VT H264 Hardware Encoder, the default audio encoder, record to .mp4, CBR rate control with a 45000 bit rate, these seem to look ok but maybe you could try them and see what you think. If you find anything that you think works better Id be interested ti hear it - are you rendering your videos? If so in what editor?

I actually do not render my videos, I just record them and post on my YouTube channel right away. My settings are: Apple VT H264 Hardware Encoder, CoreAudio AAC, Quicktime, and CBR with 40000 bitrate.

Ok, and how do they look? I was reasonably happy with both of mine but for the particular game I'm doing at the moment I'm probably going to opt for 1440p @ 60fps. Your settings are pretty much the same as mine anyway, so should be a similar setup.

I'd say this is a good setting, though I am yet to try out CRF. Also, for CBR rated with 40000 bitrate, that is just in accordance to the official Elgato website. I believe their statement says the following:
720p: 10000
1080p: 20000
1440p: 30000
2160p: 40000
They said these are not finalized numbers and that adjustments might need to be made depending on people.

Yeah well on the recordings I do on pc I use cqp I believe it is with a setting of 14. On the Mac with the ps5 using the HD60X I'm using 45k on CBR but I could probably go less than that but I don't mind the files being a little bigger so 45k seems to work ok, but yeah these settings seem ok at the moment I'm going to try recording and putting out some more videos and see how it goes.
Did you have any issues with your OBS recordings being too dark? I had to brighten mine up using a filter in OBS as they were too dark initially, maybe it depends on the game in question.

Mine don't really look dark at all. They look just fine.
