Question / Help Best settings for my situation (local recording)

Hello! I'm new to OBS and i searched here for some guides, but now I'm here to ask what are the best settings for my (crappy) configuration. My PC for now is:
- Intel i3 3220
- Sapphire Radeon HD 7750 1GB DDR5
- 8 GB RAM DDR3 1333MHz
- Monitor 1680x1050

My internet connection is this (yeah, it is very very low, but you know, in Italy Internet is VERY slow, i am lucky to have this """"fast"""" connection).
Ping: 10 ms
Download: 8 Mbps
Upload: 0,50 Mbps

I want to record some gameplays of Minecraft, Counter Strike ecc. in 720p for YouTube, and I want good quality with files of low size (due to my slow connection); i wonder if that is even possible!

Another question, i am having trouble with the resolution. I have a 16:10 monitor and I want to record in 16:9, and I don't know how to do it without having black bars in the video. I hope you can help me :)

Your CPU is pretty weak, do you happen to know if it has a Quicksync capable integrated graphics on it? If so, that would be your best bet. Regardless, here's a good guide for you: viewtopic.php?f=18&t=2972 . You won't be able to stream, but you can record to disk and then upload to YouTube later.

Your best bet to avoid black bars is to either crop some of the top and bottom when you record or later in editing. Squishing the video to fit is horrible, don't do it.

Sorry, i don't know what is the Quicksync capable integrated graphics. If it is this, it has Intel HD Graphics 2500.
Thanks for the guide, I'll see if the size of the files is too big, and yes, i don't want to stream.
Last thing, how do i crop the top or the bottom when I record? A guide would be very helpful.

Yes, I believe that Intel graphics supports Quicksync, you should do a forum search for how to set it up, as it'll greatly reduce your CPU usage and be your best bet.

I don't have to crop on my setup, so I'm generally unaware of how its done, but its probably in one of the guides here, maybe scene setup? viewtopic.php?f=18&t=5719

Ok, I have enabled Quick Sync, how do I use it for recording, and what will it do? Then, I can't find a way to remove the black bars. Another question: i have adjusted the settings as in the guid you sent to me, and a file of 1 minute and 40 seconds is 50 mb. Is there a method to keep the quality and make the size lower? Thanks for your help!

EDIT: I disabled Quick Sync, since it was giving me many problems such two mouse cursors, and cursor that moves away from the first real screen, to the second "fake" screen.
